Stephen and I corresponded after that for a few years, talked on the phone a few times.
This year, 2004, he decided to fly to Fredericton from Toronto to have supper with me.
Litterally. He arrived at 4:45pm and left the next day at 10:45am the next day.
During this supper, after not knowing of each other for some 45 years, I told him a story of when I was 10 years old.
At that time, my father had brought me to a music store with the intention of buying me a violin, which I held in my hand for about 20 seconds.
He then changed his mind and took me to Eaton's across the street to buy me the equivalent price of hockey equipment - which I never used!
So much for the violin, and I always wondered how my life would have been with it.
It gets better.
This Christmas, Stephen sent me your card with a hand made violin!
And a complete violin with case and instruction book.
I am 70 years old and am going to start violin lessons next Saturday.
Your hand-made violin Christmas card will always remain a cherished memory for me, and I wanted you to know that.

Thank you.

Gauthier
Fredericton NB

All contents (c) Andrew Wung-Chou Wang.
